What is the Test to Release scheme?

If you after arriving in the UK if you are unvaccinated or arriving from a country whose vaccines/vaccination certification programs are not recognised by UK, you must quarantine for 10 days on arrival. Under the Test to Release scheme you can choose to pay for a private COVID-19 test as you cannot use tests provided by NHS Test & Trace under this scheme. If the result is negative, you can end your self-isolation period. Please note you will have to have been in England for 5 full days in order to take a test. Please note that the UK Passenger Locator Form accepts the Rainbow Labs order number as a valid reference number.

IMPORTANT: Please read below information carefully to avoid delays.

Step 1: Order your kit online.

Step 2: Follow the Instructional Leaflet and video to perform the sample collection.

Step 3: Please activate your test kit by clicking here. (Your samples will not be processed if you do not activate your test)

Step 4: Post it the same day into a Priority Mailbox using the pre-paid, tracked return label that is on the back of the box.


SHIPPING: Order before 12 noon to receive your kit the next business day. You will receive your testing kit within 36 hours of your order. Please refer to our Shipping Information on the Homepage.

RESULTS: We aim to return results via email usually within 24 hours of your test reaching our UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accredited partner lab.
